چکیده

This paper evaluates a recently created Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) calibration tool built using the Windows Azure Cloud environment and a parallel version of the Dynamically Dimensioned Search (DDS) calibration method modified to run in Azure. The calibration tool was tested for six model scenarios constructed for three watersheds of increasing size each for a 2 year and 10 year simulation duration. Results show significant speedup in calibation time and, for up to 64 cores, minimal losses in speedup for all watershed sizes and simulation durations. An empirical relationship is presented for estimating the time needed to calibration a SWAT model using the cloud calibration tool as a function of the number of Hydrologic Response Units (HRUs), time steps, and cores used for the calibration.

تاثیر نوع ابرهای پایین جو بر میزان دقت شبیه سازی رواناب در مدل SWAT

Introduction: Patterns of spatial and temporal rainfall impact on runoff and outlet hydrograph (Cordery, 1993; James, 1994). Results of different studies have clarified that simulation by using diverse rainfall data could increase the reliance of results. These were much more sensible in which areas encounter with data scarcity (Mello et al., 2008; Bekiaris et al., 2008). Rainfall properties in...

River Flow Simulation Using SWAT Physically Based Model in Barandouzchay of Urmia Lake River Basin

Nowadays, there are too many models in the world for simulation of hydrological processes, such as the SWAT physically based model. The SWAT model is a continuous and physically based hydrologic model that is the smallest unit in this model is Hydrologic Response Unit, and all hydrological processes are simulated in each of these units. This model can simulate runoff, sedimentation, erosion and...

Simulation of Hydrological Balance in Eskandari Watershed Using SWAT Model and algorithms SUFI2

In order to manage watersheds, especially in mountainous areas that are not adequately station  hydrological phenomena simulation is important. In this study, the SWAT model used to simulate hydrologic basin Eskandari. Calibration and validation of models for the periods 2006-1992 and 2009-2015, respectively, using the algorithm SUFI2 in software SWAT CUP was done. To evaluate the simulation re...

A Python Tool for Multi-Gage Calibration of SWAT Models using the NSGA-II Algorithm

Calibration of large watershed models requires multi-gage calibration, however there are limited tools available for performing these calibrations of SWAT models. Non-Dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm II (NSGA-II) has been shown to be an effective and efficient multi-objective calibration algorithm in various disciplines. Although NSGA-II has been used with SWAT before, there is no publically...
